What is Sanctum?

Sanctum is a two-player strategic collectible card board game, played only online.

Your aim is simple: Overtake your opponent's Sanctum.

Your method is complex:

  • You are a mage of one of several houses
  • You and your opponent cast spells on the board that affect terrain, movement, and play
  • You never play the same game twice!

Players meet in the lobby to chat and start games. We have contests and giveaways here. A group of volunteer magistrates roam the lobby to help new players and answer questions. (Click on any image to see a larger version.)

The game starts, naturally, in your Sanctum. Recruit minions and generate spell-casting mana here. Send your recruits out onto the board, and use mana to cast spells.

It's turn-based play...each player implements his or her winning strategy. Players move across the board, overtaking towns along the way.

Here, a player casts a spell that affects the opponent's armor. Players chat at screen bottom.

Battle! Minion groups beef up in strength and armor (and weaken opponents) and meet to battle. Players send monsters onto the board to do their bidding. Here, a minion battles the awful monster Prismatic Serpent.

Using the 60 free cards provided with each free account, Sanctum can build a deck of cards for beginning players. Once you're comfortable, use our Deck Builder program to build custom decks.
