Mana and Casting Orders

Spell Targeting Feedback

Casting and Discarding Spells.

  • You target a spell for casting by dragging it from your hand to the desired spell target, and dropping it there.
  • To discard a spell, you “target” it on the Whirlpool in the lower right corner of the game board. You may discard at most 1 spell per turn. Some spells prevent you from discarding.
  • To cancel a targeted spell, click it again. (This also works to cancel a discard.)

Mana and Casting Orders.

  • At the start of each turn, you generate your full mana production from your Sanctum, owned structures, and active spells.
  • When you drop a spell on a legal target, you pay its casting cost.
  • If you can't pay the casting cost, then the target won't be legal!
  • When you cancel a targeted spell, you get a refund of its casting cost.
  • Discarding a spell doesn't cost any mana. Canceling a discard doesn't refund any mana.
  • Mana does not accumulate. At the start of the next turn, any unused mana is simply lost.

Spell Targeting Feedback. As you drag a spell over the game board, the mouse cursor changes to show whether the targeting is legal.

  • Dropping a spell where it isn't legal simply cancels the dragging operation.
  • When you drop a spell on a legal target, the spell is marked as targeted.
    • The spell card turns gray in your hand.
    • A yellow casting marker appears on the minion tile, all minion tiles in a group, or the square.
    • You pay the spell's casting cost.
  • When you click on a spell target, any new spells you've targeted on it this turn will appear in its spell list, in parentheses.
